Source | International Journal of Social Sciences pp 001-015 Vol 19. No. 1 -- 2014 |
Abstract | This study on social responsibility performance audit of Jollibee-Philippines aims to audit the social responsibility performance of Jollibee in terms of Economic, Legal, Ethical and Philanthropic social responsibilities as perceived by employees and customers. The non-parametric way of determining the differences among the branches and between employees and customers on the responses of respondents on the social responsibility performance of Jollibee was employed through the use of statistical tools: namely: Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney. The stakeholder-respondents gave a rating of “accommodative” to Jollibee as the over-all level of social responsibility performance. It was further revealed that respondents of the four (4) Jollibee branches have different perceptions on the social responsibility performance of Jollibee, specifically the economic responsibility. Perceptions of employees and customers were also different on social responsibility performance of Jollibee particularly in the levels of legal and ethical responsibilities. Both employees and customers may have their respective concerns and issues at hand which made their responses different. Jollibee must be proactive in fulfilling its responsibilities to its stakeholders by adopting a stakeholder perspective in social responsibility and including the feedback from relevant stakeholders in the formulation of the firm’s strategy and implementation.
