THE WAY TO FIND  SELF-HARMONY FOR LECTURERS AND STUDENTS
AT PADANG LAMPE ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL

Abstract

The background of this article that everyone has freedom to do things as he pleases, but keep in mind that in living life, especially teachers and students not only live alone, he/she lives side by side with others where he/she also indirectly obliged to protect the feelings of others, and make others become comfortable with his/her behaviours. This kind of thing which is part of students learning at Pesantren Darul Mukhlishin Padanglampe Pangkep. The aim of this article is finding the way of self harmony, especially for students and lectures at Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI). This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study which is a method used to collect data in accordance with the expressions of the hearts of the people being investigated, their attitudes and behavior. This research is located at Pesantren Darul Mukhlishin Padanglampe Pangkep. The selection of research locations was based on the consideration that Padanglampe is the place for central of Qalbu Enlightenments of UMI. The data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentations. Data analysis through data display, verification, and conclusions.
The result research showed that the studentsof UMI are able to apply a good social ethics and character at Campus and surely in social life in the community outside the campus environment and maintain a good image that has been planted in the minds on finding self harmonywithin the community through Pesantren Darul Mukhlishin Padanglampe. Furthermore, the way to find harmony for students and lecturers at Universitas Muslim Indonesia through the enlightenment program of UMI by developing sixteen characters (values) as well as making the pledge of the caliphate to try to be smart, honest, caring, healthy and strong. Implementing these values ​​within the attributes of God in Asmaul Husna, especially to God, to self, to fellow human beings, and to nature.

Title

ISLAMIC LEADERSHIP MODEL IN INCREASING ETHOS AND MOTIVATION OF EMPLOYEES AND LECTURERS OF UNIVERSITAS MUSLIM INDONESIA

Abstract

 

This paper is motivated by the view that the application of the Islamic leadership model in total through the main steps taken is imitating the Prophet, because all the attitudes, behavior of the Prophet Muhammad in leading the people always prioritize the principles of Islamic leadership. Because leadership basically invites members to move to carry out work (pious deeds), then the benchmarks of success of the Islamic leadership model are seen from the emergence of the work ethic and motivation of its members. The research method is descriptive, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, surveys and documentation. Data analysis uses data display, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. While quantitative data use the percentage formula.
The results showed that the Islamic leadership model implemented at UMI had a positive effect in increasing the work ethic and motivation of UMI employees and lecturers. This shows that the indicators of the Islamic leadership model, including loving the truth, tolerance and civil society in carrying out the mandate. In addition, the Islamic leadership model implemented at UMI has a positive effect on the work ethic and motivation of UMI employees and lecturers. The better the Islamic leadership carried out by the leader, the work ethic and motivation of UMI employees and lecturers will increase. Whereas the Islamic work ethic has a positive influence in increasing the work motivation of UMI employees and lecturers. The leadership of UMI is able to meet the personal needs, physical, psychological and social needs of employees and lecturers that lead to positive work motivation. However sometimes their work motivation is found up and down. The better the work ethic of employees and lecturers, the work motivation will increase. Work ethic with al-mujahadah attitude or hard work that is optimal, makes a person motivated to work harder, thus increasing his work.

Title

A HERMENEUTICAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF PSALMS

Abstract

I apply Gadamer’s view of historicity to undergo a hermeneutical understanding of the historical significance of Psalms, which narrates Israelites’ history including creation, the patriarchs, Egyptian bondage, Sinai, the wilderness, conquest, life in the land, and the exile and return.  Gadamer’s concept of history composed of universal history, the concept of power, and the concept of Spirit are applied to explain the historical significance of Psalms. In terms of Christianity, which emerges as the centerpiece of the historical view of Western tradition, human history moves towards unity and freedom under the supreme sovereignty of Spirit, Who makes history.
