Title

PRINCIPAL'S LEADERSHIP IN IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION
IN ATHIRAH  ISLAMIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL MAKASSAR

Abstract

The  study examines two main problems, how to describe the leadership of the Athirah Islamic High Schooll principals, and how to improve the quality of Athirah Islamic High School Makassar. The type of research is descriptive with a case study approach. Research data sources are informants, both key informants and ordinary informants and documents.The data collection method uses in-depth interview, and observation. The sample using purposive sampling, namely selecting informants over certain criteria. The data analysis technique uses the interactive analysis of the Miles and Huberman models, while the data validity test uses source and method triangulation.
The results of the study indicated that the principal in leading Athirah Islamic High School implements management functions, including planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. To optimize performance, the principal distributes some of his responsibilities to the vice-principal in accordance with their main tasks and functions. Efforts are being made to improve the quality of school principals implementing well through curriculum management, human resource management, financial management, and management of facilities and infrastructure. The research findings that the principal has implemented leadership well in accordance with management functions. Thus an increase in the quality of education in Athirah Islamic High School is characterized by increased academic and non-academic achievements achieved by students. Achievements in academics such as science olympiad champions, and graduation of students in national examinations. While non-academic achievements are champions in various ompetitions both arts and sports.

WOMEN’S CAPACITY BUILDING IN GOVERNANCE
AT CENTRAL ACEH REGENCY ACEH PROVINCE

Abstract

Women's capacity building in the government sector is a necessity amidst the low involvement of women in the executive and legislative branches, capacity building is carried out in the form of affirmations in the form of Gender Mainstreaming and a 30% quota in the Election and Party Law.
This research uses the descriptive qualitative method with the intention of revealing how the capacity building of women in the field of government in Central Aceh District. The analysis of this study uses the theory from Grindle about capacity building and the model of adaptation results with the empowerment theory from Wrihatnolo and Dwidjowijoto.
The results revealed that capacity building encompassing Human Resources, Strengthening Organizations and Institutional Reforms that have not been able to increase the involvement of women both in the structural structure of the Central Aceh district government and in the House of Representatives (DPRK) Central Aceh. For that reason, in carrying out capacity building for women in government, it is necessary to conduct Gender Perspective Reform as a recommended model to be implemented in creating a civil society that is able to understand the importance of justice and impartiality for women involved in government, so that the quality and quantity of women in government will increase.

Abstract

This study aims to test and analyze empirically the influence of Islamic leadership, spiritual pedagogical competence, organizational commitment to the work environment, the influence of Islamic leadership, spiritual pedagogical competence, organizational commitment to teacher performance, and the influence of Islamic leadership, spiritual pedagogical competence, organizational commitment to teacher performance through the work environment.
The study was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Makassar City using a sample of 191 people. The results of the study were analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis to see the effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable directly.
The results showed that Islamic leadership had a positive and significant effect by producing a path coefficient of 0.409 to the work environment, spiritual pedagogical competence had a positive and significant effect by producing a path coefficient of 0.299 to the work environment, organizational commitment had a positive and significant effect by producing a path coefficient of 0.346 towards work environment, Islamic leadership has a positive and significant effect by producing a path coefficient of 0.341 on teacher performance, spiritual pedagogical competence has a positive and significant effect by producing a path coefficient of 0.252 on teacher performance, organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect by producing a path coefficient of 0.458 on performance teacher, work environment has a positive and significant effect by producing a path coefficient of 0.375 on teacher performance, Islamic leadership has a positive effect on produces indirect coefficient of 0.154 and T statistics of 2.139 on teacher performance through the work environment, spiritual pedagogical competence has a positive effect by producing an indirect coefficient of 0.096 and T statistics of 2.043 on teacher performance through the work environment. Organizational commitment has a positive effect by producing an indirect coefficient of 0.181 and T statistics of 2.784 on the performance of teachers through the work environment

Title

MULTICULTURAL LEARNING FOR STRENGTHENING THE LEARNING CAPACITY OF HOUSEHOLD MOTHERS AND ISOLATED COSTAL COMMUNITY

Abstract

Among the indicators widely-used in determining human resources quality is years of schooling; it is assumed that the longer the years of education and the higher the educational levels received by people, the better the quality of their learning capacity.  For this reason, learning programs are established to prevent dropout rates. The programs continuously strive to increase net enrollment rates in every period. Although it is likely to yield fruitful results, some people demand a specific education that is in accordance with personal needs. Fishermen’s housewives living in the northern coastal area of Gorontalo Regency, specifically in Bilato Sub-district and Biluhu Sub-district, experiences some problems in learning due to. (1) Fishers often go fishing, leaving their wives at home for months. (2) The fishermen families are living under poor conditions. (3) The housewives struggle with inefficient time usage, and (4) lack of knowledge in developing business by utilizing coastal natural resources. Such issues hindering productivity lead to welfare improvement issues. Thus, multicultural education is designed to tackle the concerns revolving around the needs of the housewives in the coastal area.  This type of education offers learning resources, which allow the women to sustain their needs for studying accordingly. Multicultural education encompasses the principle of assimilation and learning competency enhancement from multiple sources, innovative and creative culture, development of work relation, and self-evaluation in learning. The study finds that: (1) multicultural learning is applicable for fulfilling the needs of community learning for which it supports people’s productivity, increases learning capacity, and minimizes risks of cultural clash; (2) multicultural learning, encompassing steps, such as assimilation, empowerment, and learning competency, should maximize the use of all learning resources to minimize the role facilitators in their work wherever possible; (3) multicultural learning for housewives significantly contributes to the reinforcement of learning capacity, particularly in the management of coastal resources in Gorontalo Utara. One of the examples is processing nike fish (typical fish species of Gorontalo) into various food products, such as crackers, floss, and pudding; (4) housewives in the research site are in needs of an institution that facilitates their commitment to socialize, share, learn, as well as discover innovation to actualize shared goals. Some of the respondents (7.14%) perceive the implementation of multicultural learning positively, while the others (92.86%) are highly satisfied with the activities in the program.

IMPLEMENTATION OF JUSTICE COMPENSATION                                                      IN BADAN PEMERIKSA KEUANGAN

Abstract

The phenomenon that is the object of research is the implementation of fairness compensation in the Supreme Audit Board. The research objectives are (1) Analyzing the implementation of fairness of compensation in the Supreme Audit Board; (2) analyze the strategy of implementing fair compensation in the Supreme Audit Board. Research uses a qualitative research approach. Research informants were determined by the snow ball technique. Secondary data collection using library research; Primary data collection using interview and observation techniques. Data analysis using descriptive analysis developed with observer triangulation analysis. The results of the research analysis are as follows:
The policy of giving compensation to the Supreme Audit Board employees up to now still does not meet the principles of justice, both internally and externally, because there is no internal justice is that the compensation system implemented is not based on work weight, education level, years of service, work performance , and position level. To the same degree, an employee has different workloads but receives the same compensation.
The policy of providing compensation to employees in Indonesia that is still in effect today is still not appropriate for employees and their families because in reality the compensation received has not been able to be used to fulfill the needs of living properly.
