THE EFFECT OF PEDAGOGIC COMPETENCE, MOTIVATION AND CULTURE OF MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH STATE TEACHERS IN SOUTHEAST SULAWESI

Abstract

This paper is describe the efforts to improve the quality of teacher resources which are a component of human resources that are fostered and developed continuously, so that the teachers can improve the quality of education. The teacher carries out the task of educating, guiding, directing, supervising, and facilitating the students. The aim of this study is analyzing the effect of pedagogic competence, motivation and madrasah culture of madrasah teachers’ performance. There are 91 teachers as a sample of the total number of teachers of Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Southeast Sulawesi. Data collected through observation, questionnaires and documentation. The data was then analyzed by multiple linear regressions using SPSS.
The results showed that pedagogic competence had a positive and significant influence on teacher performance. Motivation also had a positive and significant influence on teacher performance. Furthermore, madrasah culture had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Thus, the pedagogic, motivation and madrasah culture simultaneously have a positive effect on teacher performance. This means that the implementation has been carried out according to the values, norms and principles that make the teachers are able to demonstrate performance in carrying out their duties.

PERSONAL AND SITUATIONAL FACTOR ANALYSIS
ON COMMUNICATION SOURCE IN FAMILY HERBAL PLANT MANAGEMENT IN WEST JAVA PROVINCE

Abstract

This research purposes are to explore 1) Personal factor, including biological, socio-psychological, and sociogenetical factors. 2) Situational factor, including environmental and land use, technological, and social factors.
                The method of this research is descriptive method in describing issues based on qualitative data to acquire comprehensive understanding on the subject of the research.
                Research shows that 1) On Personal Factor, the reason of managing Toga (acronym of Tanaman Obat Keluarga or Family Herbal Plant) is based on educational background and main task and job function that an individual has. Toga could become a benefit for public as first aid of health problem, source of income, charming landscape at home, to lower family’s expenditure especially in medicine portion, and food sources.
The steps applied by government official in handling this issue are by organizing workshop, seminar, holding interviews with media (television, radio, and magazine), publicizing research results in scientific or semi-popular journals, organizing counseling, and circulating herbal plant’s seeds among public.
The response from public is really positive concerning this matter. 2) On Situational Factor, physical environment plays a beneficial role in managing toga as land planted with toga will have a lower temperature, an aesthetic aspect of Toga’s pilot field with a comfortable place for dissemination process also comes into hand. A flexible and shorter time for government’s officials in doing the dissemination is important in really focusing them on the material being communicated, which leads to a more enthusiastic audiences. Technologies being used for dissemination are LCD projector, laptop, and posters, which objectives are to develop networking and to spread knowledge to public.

THE INFLUENCE OF REGIONAL EXPANSION AND GOVERNANCE PERFORMANCE TOWARD COMMUNITY WELFAREIN OGAN ILIR DISTRICTSOUTH SUMATRA PROVINCE

Abstract

The phenomenon that made the object of research is the community welfare in Ogan Ilir District, South Sumatra Province. The research objective was to discuss the influence of Regional Expansion and Governance Performance toward Community Welfare. The study used quantitative research approach. Samples are 226 respondents drawn from the study population as many as 550 people using the Table of Krejcie. Collecting data using literature study, questionnaire and observation. Data analysis using SEM Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of the study are the following:
The amount of the influenceof Regional Expansion toward the Community Welfare reached 0.79. Has proven that the influence of Regional Expansion toward the Community Welfare determined by aspirations, strategy, organizational skills, systems and infrastructure, human resources, organizational structure and culture.
The amount of influence on the Government Performance toward Community Welfare reached 0.75. The amount of influence on the Government Performance toward Community Welfare contributions are determined by individual performance to increase community welfare, contribution by  group's performance to increase community welfare, and contribution by  organizational performance to increase community  welfare.
Therefore the influence of Regional Expansion and government performance together toward Community Welfare.
The new concept is derived from the discussion of the influence of Regional Expansion and Performance Governance The Welfare Society in Ogan Ilir is: First, the concept of Cultural Change Work Government conceptualized as the development and adjustment of the values of work and the work of government bureaucracy in the public welfare that includes a change in norms work; work ethic and work ethos; second, the concept of  Individual Performance Contributions absorbed into the government's performance according to job function and areas of work of the person in order to realize the welfare society of legislative members performance contributions; apparatus of bureaucracy unit performance contribution; sub district administrative performance contribution; apparatus village performance contribution; and  NGOs members performance  contributions.
